I'm very happy to be able to offer this Flex Whiteboard Component for sale as of today.
It is a complete rewrite of our popular Flash Whiteboard component which has been integrated into projects such as DimDim and Aspiringkidz. We hope that the Flex component will have a similar success. I truly believe that this is the best Flex based whiteboard component for FMS available today and it has a massive feature set including many public APIs and an architecture that allows you to specify any Canvas component in Flex as the whiteboard surface. Images are supported and we have even added Flickr integration.
I've set up a dedicated page with more information right here.

there was no graditude for letting him know ...just the removal of my post
Lord only knows how many people downloaded it.
Is that right that this Fwex version would cost 500 beans ?
does it come with the source files ?
thanks Eric

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say that this was mistakenly posted. I was not aware of that.
As for the price, it's up to you to decide if it's worth $499 to you. We think it's great value for money. And no, that's not the source code version but you can see most of the code (apart from the SWC) when you right click the online demo. That will give you an idea of how much work has gone into this.

i bought the component some days ago and i am getting used to it. the examples are great. there are some issues where i am stuck.
- i rewrote a basic example as AIR Application. drawn shapes dissapear immediately after they have been drawn. is there an AIR example around?
- what is the best way to custumize ShapeRef objects (e.g. open a window when a specific shape is clicked). my approach would be to create a stamp as swf which contains additional methods and properties. or is there a way to create custom classes which extend ShapeRef?
thanks,
chris

If shapes disappear this normally means that you are not connected to the server properly. Are you sure you are connected?

i am running the fms 3 locally on windows. all the examples run fine. the rewritten example in AIR mainly consist of changing "<mx:Application>" to "<mx:WindowedApplication". The rest of the code, including the on connecting to the server is the same as in your example.
the AIR application indeed doesn't seem to connect properly. this is also confirmed by the fms administrator console.
i don't know wether the issue is me, AIR, fms or the whiteboard.
thanx,
chris

my fms is running and i made several test with AIR using shared objects and they run well. so it is me or the whiteboard causing the problem. when listening for a NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, i get "NetConnection.Connect.Rejected". could the server side example code reject the connection of an AIR application? it would be really useful to get a simple AIR example with the package (server and client code) in order to save time.
cheers, chris

And if this is possible, is it also possible to allow the user to edit/modify the text inside a shape, e.g. by double-clicking the shape or executing some other mouse/keyboard action? Can this be done repeatedly?
